Look no farther! If your adrenaline starts pumping watching high-performance motor sports or just car racing in general then you will absolutely love the Seiko Sportura Watches. This highly popular collection was inspired by the Honda Racing Formula One Team and represents the love of race cars in their unique design. Each watch in this collection consists of a high-grade stainless steel water resistant case and contains a non-reflective sapphire crystal. They are not only are loved for their looks but also for being durable, legible and practical no matter what speed you are traveling. Seiko states this collection is “made for the road ahead.” Personally I don’t think there are any better words that can describe the Seiko Sportura watches.
The Seiko Men’s Sportura Formula One Honda Racing Watch #SNA749 is the most popular in this collection. Seiko designed this watch to mirror the Honda race cars. This particular watch
consists of the Honda racing primary colors (orange and red) and its face reflects actual race car gauges. This watch might be one of the top watches in this collection but comes with a surprising price tag in the $600 range. This one is simply the perfect match for any Honda race car enthusiast.
The Seiko Sportura watches consist of many different designs that will accommodate any race car fan and comes in many different types including: The Double Retrograde Chronograph, Kinetic Direct Drive, Chronograph Perpetual, Ultimate Kinetic Chronograph, Alarm Chronograph and simple chronograph.
Seiko did not intend to leave the women fans out of this collection so they created some great watches for the ladies that also enjoy the horsepower. These watches were created to show a woman’s sporty side while staying feminine at the same time. None of the ladies watches in this collection consists of the Honda colors but instead are available with the main colors consisting of silver, white or bronze. Most of these watches will sport diamond set dials but each watch varies in this collection. A great find for any race car gal.
P.S.
Just a reminder: When buying Seiko Sportura watches please make sure to check for the guarantee that Seiko offers and only buy from reputable sellers. Seiko watches are made to last a lifetime and will come with a nice warranty if they are truly authentic. A good note to remember is: If the price is a great deal different than any other stores/sites then it is probably a rip off. Stay away from these sites and any sites that ship from China or Japan.
BEST PLACES TO FIND THE SEIKO SPORTURA WATCHES AT GREAT PRICES
You get what you pay for is a good motto to keep in mind when selecting a watch. The Seiko dive watch brand has proven over time to be a life long investment. The watches are always reliable, accurate at keeping time, comfortable to wear, very stylish and extremely durable. You can not go wrong with a company that has been in business since the 1960’s and has been a constant leader in making many “World’s First” in the watch industry.
First there are three different types of Seiko Divers Watches.
Digital: Most of these watches are water resistant up to 200 meters or more and they are usually the least expensive out of all three watch types.
Classic: The classic Seiko divers watches are usually quartz analog models and are in the mid price range of around $200-$500 for you basic models. These are great for a non scuba diver (who wants to just look cool), a every weekend casual scuba diver to your professional scuba diver that spends more time in the ocean then on land.
Computer: The latest in the Seiko dive watch line. They do everything a dive computer would do but in a compact, strap to your wrist size. They are the highest price version of the dive watches available on the market today. These are perfect for your professional scuba divers.
Two most important factors in selecting a proper Seiko dive watch
#1) If you are purchasing a scuba watch for actual usage underwater instead of just for looks then the bezel will be an important deciding factor in your purchasing decision.
The Bezel is a rotating dial on the face of the Seiko dive watch used for keeping up with how long you have been submerged underwater. This part of the watch needs to be accurate, clearly visible and easily readable even in the murkiest of water. Most Seiko diving watches have illuminated hands that are extremely bright and visible in dark or cloudy water.
Even if you dive with a dive computer then it is still very important to have a proper watch as a secondary backup timing/safety device. A good watch is crucial gear for diving safety.
#2) Selecting a watch that is WATER RESISTANT not water proof is very important. Any scuba diving watch should be water resistant of at least 200 feet.
There are many people out there who buy a Seiko dive watch not for diving but just to be cool. That will make my #1 and #2 tips for selecting a dive watch completely obsolete.
Let’s face it, just because you don’t swim down into an unforgiving environment with all kinds of special equipment and training doesn’t mean you can’t portray an image of adventure, extreme sports, and risk taking just from what you wear on your wrist.
So if you are selecting a watch just for looks or actual use it will not matter when it comes to the Seiko dive watch. Everyone can find exactly what they are looking for among their great selections.
With the Seiko divers watches being so popular in the industry there is a great chance of purchasing a “fake”. Therefore it is very important to notice a few trademarks of the Seiko brand to avoid fraud.
*Purchase online only from a store with solid customer feedback posted on their site and who provide a customer service number where you can talk to a LIVE person. The box that pops up where you can “type” to a live person is not good enough.
*Buying online can save you big $ when you price compare. The competition among online retailers is in your favor when making a purchase. Most will do a price match or if you do find the best price you can still get bigger savings with a coupon code.
*Look for a statement on their site stating they are an authorized Seiko retailer. If you can not find the statement anywhere then that is a BIG red flag.
*Avoid buying from sites that are in foreign countries such as Japan and China where counterfeit is a high possibility.
*Public auction sites try their best to avoid counterfeits from being sold on their sites but not all are caught. Customers on the site are the ones who flag the auctions, the auction site then investigates and a solution is made. In the time it takes for the process to be complete you could have already made your bid/buy out and completed the sale. With auction sites, remember, it can be very hard to get your money back.
Seiko dive watch features:
*The metallic parts will never fade, require minimal cleaning and retains their original luster after many years of use.
*A see through back indicates the watch is a genuine Seiko but keep in mind that some older models have a stainless steel back.
*Each watch comes in a nice packaging box, with an instruction manual and a 1 year warranty that contains a unique serial number.
*Every watch sold by authorized retail stores are guaranteed original
We may never get rid of counterfeiting entirely but knowledge is power and can lessen your chance at a rip off. Remember a very good rule…if the price is extremely cheap and seems too good to be true then it probably is and you need to run far, far away.
I hope that these tips and suggestions have helped you on your way to selecting the perfect Seiko dive watch. Now that you are aware of things to watch for when making your purchase you can make the decision with more confidence. Get the watch you want online at a big discount without being afraid of a rip off with just the little information that I have provided for you.
These prices at KenmarWatches.com were the best across all the AUTHORIZED Seiko retailers online.

Both of these Seiko models have a stainless steel casing/bracelet, accented in 36 genuine diamonds and a mother of pearl dial and date display. Also they are water resistant to 100m.

The Seiko divers watches 7002 is a highly collectable diver’s watch that was replaced by the SKX line in 1996. The Seiko dive watch SKX173 is the latest in the SKX line and is almost identical to the late 7002 model. The only visible difference in these models is the date window. If you take a look closer however you will see that a cool new feature of the SKX173 is the auto-winding mechanism meaning you will never have to buy a battery for this watch.
In most cases you will be able to locate new vintage Seiko diver’s watches 7002 but you find used ones on any popular auction site. Unless you are a Seiko dive watch collector you will probably rather have a new one, especially if the watch is intended to be a gift. The 7002 was a great model but if you want a new improved 7002 then I would suggest looking into the
The Seiko SKX173 is just like the 7002 in looks but has all the new up to date gadgets that you want in this generation of Seiko diver’s watches. The SKX173 is constantly receiving rave reviews and is living up to being another great watch that will last for generations to come.

I have loved Seiko divers watches since my early adult days. I purchased my first divers in the early 1990’s (the Seiko diver watches 7002) and have been hooked since. My most recent purchase was the Seiko divers watches SKX173. I consider the SKX173 to have a classic look. I love these watches not only because they are perfect for water sports but also because on dry land they will accent normal everyday clothes.
I find the auto-winding mechanism on these watches very fascinating. Until purchasing this watch I was always replacing batteries for regular quartz models constantly. If you are a busy person like me then you can understand how this can become a. Sometimes I would go months before finding the time to stop and have the batteries replaced. The SKX173 however will self wind while attached to your wrist. Normal day to day activities in which you simply move your arm will keep the watch running without a thought. If you do not use this watch everyday and the auto-winding runs out then you simply need to strap it on your wrist, adjust it to the correct time/day and start moving around.
A CLASSIC FEATURE of Seiko divers watches is the rotator elapsed time bezel. In case you are someone who likes the countdown timing feature on your regular digital watch, this watch does the same thing only in a analog way.
THIS MODEL has a great attention grabbing face with all its wonderful features. Even at night it has a long lasting glow in the dark visibility. The glow in the dark visibility seems to outlast other models by far. I can tell time on this watch at any time during the night and even in some of the murkiest waters.
THE BLACK STRAP is made out of waterproof rubber and measures about 22cm. The spring pins are made of industrial strength heavy duty steal. The Seiko model straps are known for being indestructible. After wearing this watch both in and out of the water it has seemed to mold itself in the shape of my wrist. After forming to wrist it has felt more comfortable with each use.
THE STEEL CASING is a large size at 42cm across making it the perfect size for any normal size male. It has a nice weight to it that projects a nice masculine look and feel. A nice design feature to this watch for me is the position of the winding knob. It is at the 4:00 position instead of the normal 3:00. The dial does not cut into my hand like other watches because of this unique position.
I really like this watch so much that I plan to make another purchase for myself very soon or who knows, maybe Santa will bring me one I would love to get the more recent Seiko SKXA35 model with the bright yellow dial.
I have found that some people really like the Seiko divers watchesSKX173 but can’t afford the price tag (at under $300) and will resort to other look a like model. They are of course not going to be as great of quality as the Seiko but serve their purpose quiet well. Casio and Citizen both make a diver watch that is very similar. The Casio dive watch model #MDV102-1AV and the Citizens Eco-Drive model #BN0000-04H. The only notable difference is the crown which is at the regular 3:00 position. With the price tag being at around $50 makes it a good alternative to the Seiko divers watches SKX173.
If you are looking for a long lasting, durable and high quality watch then this might be the right Seiko dive watch for you. In or out of the water you will get great compliments on how it looks and people will always be asking where you got it.
The Seiko Divers Watches SKX173 is a great deal and would make the perfect gift for any man that appreciates quality and the classic dive watch look.
